1. Introduction

Smart Step GPS ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Smart Step GPS mobile application (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

2. Data Collection and Use

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you:

• Personal Data: Email address, First name and last name, Phone number, Address.
• Bus Location: The position of each school bus is reported by a GPS tracking device fitted to the vehicle. It is not taken from anybody's phone.
• Staff Device Location: When a driver or bus monitor records a pick-up or drop-off in the app, the device's location at that moment is saved with the attendance record, so the school can confirm where boarding took place.
• Parent Device Location: The app asks a parent for location permission only to draw their own position on the live map alongside the bus and the stop. This position stays on the phone. It is never transmitted to our servers and never stored. Declining the permission leaves every other part of the app working.
• Student Data: We store student lists and attendance records strictly for school administration and to show parents their own child's travel.

3. Children's Privacy

Our Service is intended for use by parents and school staff. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information directly from anyone under the age of 13. All child data is provided by the educational institution or the parent. A parent can see only their own children, and school staff can see only the students assigned to their own bus or school.

4. Account Deletion

You have the right to request the deletion of your account and associated personal data. You can initiate this request directly within the mobile application settings under "Delete My Account" or by contacting your school administrator.
